Club Points Race: the 3 Bosses, the modifiers and how to score more

Cap'n Beetlejuice, Queen Wasp and Golden Beetle: Confluence, Star Shower and Inflation this week, plus last week's modifiers and decks and the wave 9 trick.

Cap'n Beetlejuice

Cap'n Beetlejuice

Confluence (Nov 3 to 10) official

Confluence: 3โ˜… Chili Chef and no repeated card (67K)

No repeated card on the field: a copy costs 75% ATK.

Open in the builder๐ŸŽฎ Test deck

How to beat it

  • Any Minion merges with any other and, on promotion, becomes a random Minion from your deck.
  • On each Ready, if there are identical copies on the field, all lose 75% ATK (Temp.).
Last week

Fury (Oct 27 to Nov 2): each Minion bought gives +2 ATK to the next ones in the Shop and costs the Captain 6 HP. That makes healing the centerpiece.

Queen Wasp

Queen Wasp

Rain of Stars (Nov 3 to 10) official

Rain of Stars: the Orange Bros clone takes the hit (62K)

The Wasp removes the highest ATK Minion, so he makes the Temp.

Open in the builder๐ŸŽฎ Test deck

Last week

Last week, Star Combo: promotions with Shroomurai and Prof. Nutter (65K)

Tomato Twister borrowed at level 11, played only in round 2 or 3: too early breaks the Boss before wave 9.

Open in the builder๐ŸŽฎ Test deck

How to beat it

  • On each Ready, she removes your highest ATK Minion and gives 15% of its ATK to all the others.
  • My math: a 400 ATK Minion removed gives 60 ATK to each of the others, so do not pile everything on one card.
Last week

Star Combo (Oct 27 to Nov 2): promoting a Minion gives 1 Sun Coin and then it is demoted, so Minions never go past 1โ˜…. Each promotion still triggers โ€œon promotionโ€ effects.

Golden Beetle

Golden Beetle

Inflation (Nov 3 to 10) official

Inflation: sell before buying, 4 Violet Magus (65K)

Selling lowers every price, so he sells and buys again for 0 or 1 Coin.

Open in the builder๐ŸŽฎ Test deck

How to beat it

  • Selling lowers every Minion's price by 1.
  • Buying raises that type's price by 2, and 1 more per extra purchase of the same type in the round.
  • Prices return to normal at the start of each round.
Last week

Reclaim (Oct 27 to Nov 2): at the start of each round the game takes your Minions back and pays 2 Sun Coins per 1โ˜… Minion, 5 per 2โ˜… and 12 per 3โ˜…. The Boss also gives Sun when its critters die.

Decks

Last week: Queen Wasp (Star Combo): promotions with Shroomurai and Prof. Nutter (65K)

NoControlTower, 355% account, borrowed level 11 Tomato Twister. Tomato Twister only on round 2 or 3; both Prof. Nutters merged at the end. Completed by me: Chili Chef and Archmandrake, from Nyx's deck for the same stage.

Full guide and sources

HOW TO SCORE MORE ON ANY BOSS

  • The Boss has three bars: normal, yellow and red. Always break its Shield, or you take the Boss's damage.
  • NoControlTower's wave 9 trick: on a weaker account, don't let the Boss change bars before wave 9. Leave it at the edge on wave 8 and break it at the start of wave 9. That way the monsters are still the normal-phase ones and the points multiplier kicks in. He warns this may change with an update.
  • HP matters: losing HP lowers the end multiplier. Healing turns into points.
  • My analysis: hold back damage on waves 6 to 8 instead of showing everything early. That's the mistake that cost NoControlTower points on Queen Wasp: Tomato Twister came in too early and broke the Boss before wave 9. On his second try he delayed Tomato Twister to round 2 or 3 and scored 65K.

THIS WEEK, NOV 3 TO 10

Details and source

According to the official notice of Oct 29, the same three Bosses come back with new modifiers. We only found one short video, the Inflation one; below is what the official text says, that player's report and how I would play them.

CONFLUENCE (CAP'N BEETLEJUICE)

  • Merge anything duplicated as soon as you can; since any Minion merges with any other, you don't need to wait for the right copy.
  • Since promotion turns into a random card from the deck, all 9 cards need to hold up on their own. A combo deck that depends on one piece suffers here.
  • Identical summoned Temp. Minions count as copies. A Cabby Trainer Sprout deck with a full board can lose 75% ATK at once.
Details and source

What the notice says: any Minion merges with any other and, when promoted, turns into a random Minion from your deck. And every Ready, if there are identical copies on the field, they all lose 75% ATK (Temp.).

STAR SHOWER (QUEEN WASP)

  • It's the Oct 12 Boss rule: your strongest Minion disappears. The answer I built that week still works: make a Temp. clone the highest-ATK Minion. The deck is in Boss deck (Oct 12), with Orange Bros and Archmandrake.
  • My math: a removed 400 ATK Minion gives 60 ATK to each of the others. Don't stack everything on one card.
Details and source

What the notice says: every Ready, she removes your highest-ATK Minion and gives 15% of its ATK to all the others.

INFLATION (GOLDEN BEETLE)

What the notice says: selling lowers the price of every Minion by 1; buying raises the price of that type by 2, plus 1 for each extra purchase of the same type that round. Prices reset at the start of every round.

  • Spread your purchases and sell before you buy.
  • Report from Yazplays (YouTube, in English, Nov 2, his account, final score not stated): the game is buying and selling. Every sale lowers the price of the other Minions in the Shop; every purchase makes that Minion pricier. He buys and instantly sells filler cards, like Seed Peon and Grape Gatsby, to drive down the price of the ones he wants to keep. Sell too much or too fast and some prices hit zero, so you have to refresh the Shop. Prices reset every round, so locking a cost-0 Minion for the next round doesn't work.
  • His deck: Sharp Sentry, Tomato Twister, Chuckleberry (which passes its ATK to the others), Grape Gatsby, Violet, a Chef and Pop Gunner as filler. He says Carrot Broker in place of the "lion" (as spoken) would probably pay off more. His board went past 2,000 ATK mid-run and reached 3,700 in the last round, not counting the Captain's power.
  • Seed Peon, which lowers purchase price by 2, and Spudchant, which refreshes the Shop for free, are the economy cards that pay off most here. They're the same ones that paid off in last week's Extreme Challenge, which also made purchases pricier.

LAST WEEK, OCT 27 TO NOV 2

The decks on this page are from last week. The cards still work, but the modifier changed, so use them as ideas, not recipes.

CAP'N BEETLEJUICE: FURY

  • Rule, from the videos: every Minion you buy gives +2 ATK to the next ones in the Shop and costs 6 of your Commander's HP.
  • my deduction: healing is the core here. Greenkeeper heals your Commander every Ready, and NoControlTower says that with two Greenkeepers and a healing Commander he recovers up to 22 HP a round. With your HP safe you can buy a lot, and every buy makes the next one stronger.
  • His deck (350% account): Greenkeeper, Berrinetta to slow enemies, Guaca Sage borrowed from the club, Sharp Sentry, which gains ATK for every Suncoin spent, Banana-rang, which bounces and helps break the Shield, Bardcore Onion and Muscle Melon. He scored 47K in the video and 58K on stream; he puts the account's ceiling at 62 to 64K.
  • Odennis, on his first try, went the same way (area damage, Greenkeeper and as many Guaca Sages as possible) and scored 35 to 38K.

QUEEN WASP: STAR COMBO

  • Rule, from the videos: promoting a Minion gives 1 Suncoin, and then it's demoted. Minions never go past 1โ˜….
  • my deduction: the demotion doesn't undo what the promotion triggered. Every promotion still fires "when promoted" effects: Pine Gangster gains 5 extra ATK, Sister Cherry gives ATK to the promoted Minion, Dr. Kraut gains ATK and Prof. Nutter gathers Research. Since the Minion goes back to 1โ˜…, it can be promoted again, and the loop repeats with 1 Suncoin each time.
  • NoControlTower's deck (355% account): Shroomurai, which he calls the Wasp's weakness, Prof. Nutter (two, merged only at the end), Tomato Twister, Pine Gangster, Sister Cherry, Dr. Kraut and Turnipette for the first wave. He scored 65K, his record on that account.
  • Nyx went the same way with Pine Gangster II, which passed 60 extra ATK, plus Shroomurai, Sister Cherry, Prof. Nutter, Princeling and Chili Chef. my deduction: Princeling below 2โ˜… gains 1โ˜… on its own every Ready, so on this stage it's a free promotion every round.

GOLDEN BEETLE: RECLAIM

  • Rule, from NoControlTower: at the start of each round, the game takes back your Minions and pays 2 Suncoins per 1โ˜… Minion, 5 per 2โ˜… and 12 per 3โ˜…. The Boss also gives Suncoins when its critters die.
  • His trick: a Minion that stars up on its own costs 3 and comes back as 5, so 2 Suncoins of profit a round. Princeling does that.
  • His deck: Princeling, Pop Gunner to hit the back and break the Shield, Spudchant to cycle the Shop and keep 3โ˜… on the board, Violet Magus as the main card and Chili Chef if it shows up. Target in the low 60Ks; he scored 41K in the video and 47K on stream, and blames Shop luck.

How the decks were built

Cap'n Beetlejuice

Beginner deck

wikiConfluence: nine different cards, rare and epic only. Built by the wiki from NoControlTower's deck. Rare and epic cards only, nine different ones and no summons, because a copy on the field costs 75% ATK. Apple Sheriff, Pop Gunner and Banana-rang hit the wave and the Boss, Greenkeeper heals. Simulator score: 52 (general strength; Confluence is not simulated, it is the wiki's reading).

wikiHow the wiki would play it: Confluence cuts 75% ATK when a card is repeated on the field. Play nine different cards, merge anything that repeats as soon as you can and avoid summons that create copies. My reading based on NoControlTower's deck.

Intermediate deck

wikiConfluence: built by the wiki, with Muscle Melon and healing. Built by the wiki from NoControlTower's deck (Cap'n Beetlejuice, 67K). Keeps Chili Chef, Banana-rang and Pop Gunner, swaps Tomato Twister and Shamaness for Muscle Melon and Alchemush (fewer legendaries) and adds Greenkeeper for healing. Nine different cards, no summons. Simulator score: 38 (general strength; Confluence is the wiki's reading).

communityLast week, Fury: healing with Greenkeeper and area damage (58K on stream). NoControlTower, 350% account. Made 47K on the video and 58K on stream. Each buy costs 6 HP, so bring Greenkeeper. Completed by the wiki: Tomato Twister and Chili Chef, which he uses on the same account the next week. Guaca Sage borrowed from the club.

communityHow the wiki would play it: NoControlTower's trick: Boss stages allow restarts, so he restarts until a Chili Chef shows up and merges only cost 3 cards so nothing repeats.

Advanced deck

communityConfluence: 3โ˜… Chili Chef and no repeated card (67K). NoControlTower, 350% account (power 363), 67K, his record on it. No repeated card on the field: a copy costs 75% ATK. He restarts until a Chili Chef shows up, merges only cost 3 cards so nothing repeats, and holds damage back so the shield does not break before wave 9. Simulator score: 24 (it measures general strength, not Confluence, which it does not simulate; the forced 3โ˜… Chili Chef is the creator's own read).

communityHow the wiki would play it: On a weak account, hold damage back on waves 6 to 8: if the shield breaks before wave 9, the Boss moves to the yellow phase and the account cannot take it. The same mistake cost NoControlTower points on the Queen Wasp.

Queen Wasp

Beginner deck

wikiRain of Stars: spread-out ATK, rare and epic only. Built by the wiki. Without Orange Bros, the way out is not to pile ATK on one card: the Wasp removes the highest one and gives 15% of it to the others, so an even team loses less. Sister Cherry and Ginger Honcho give ATK to the others, Leeky Beats and Bardcore Onion hold the field. Simulator score: 33 (general strength; Rain of Stars is the wiki's reading).

wikiHow the wiki would play it: Rain of Stars removes the highest ATK Minion. With no clone to serve as the target, spread the ATK out: an even team loses less than one with a giant card. My reading.

Intermediate deck

wikiRain of Stars: built by the wiki, no Variants. Built by the wiki from NoControlTower's deck. Same idea (Orange Bros clone as the Wasp's target, Archmandrake to give the clone ATK), with Alchemush instead of Tree of Light and the base Leeky Beats, no Variant. Simulator score: 38 (general strength; Rain of Stars is the wiki's reading).

communityLast week, Star Combo: Pine Gangster II with Princeling.

wikiHow the wiki would play it: The ideal target is a Temp. clone (Orange Bros): it is the one the Wasp removes. Archmandrake gives the clone ATK so it is the highest. my deduction, from what NoControlTower does.

Advanced deck

communityRain of Stars: the Orange Bros clone takes the hit (62K). NoControlTower, 350% account, about 62K, which is the account's limit (breaks the shield on wave 9). The Wasp removes the highest ATK Minion, so he makes the Temp. clone of Orange Bros the highest one, with Archmandrake and Leeky Beats (two copies worked better). He says this Boss needs Shroomurai; without it, swap in Bardcore Onion and Apple Sheriff. Simulator score: 48 (general strength; Rain of Stars is not simulated).

communityLast week, Star Combo: promotions with Shroomurai and Prof. Nutter (65K). NoControlTower, 355% account, his record on it. Tomato Twister borrowed at level 11, played only in round 2 or 3: too early breaks the Boss before wave 9. The two Prof. Nutter merge only at the end. Completed by the wiki: Chili Chef and Archmandrake, from Nyx's deck for the same stage.

communityHow the wiki would play it: The point of the video is timing: the strong damage comes in late, after several rounds have piled up, so the shield does not break before wave 9.

Golden Beetle

Beginner deck

wikiInflation: rare and epic only, sell before buying. Built by the wiki. Without Violet Magus (legendary), the gain comes from spending Coins: Sunkeeper and Dragon Hoarder collect Sun, Lady Tulip and Sharp Sentry grow when you spend. A rule from NoControlTower himself: sell before you buy, to pay less under Inflation. Simulator score: 38 (general strength; Inflation is the wiki's reading).

wikiHow the wiki would play it: Under Inflation, selling lowers every Minion's price by 1 and buying raises that type's. Sell before you buy and buy only what you need. My reading.

Intermediate deck

wikiInflation: built by the wiki, Violet Magus and Spudchant. Built by the wiki from NoControlTower's deck (65K). Keeps Violet Magus, Hogsteen, Sunkeeper and Gourmand Baker, swaps Cashew Sage, Coco Coinhog and Guaca Sage for Alchemush and Sharp Sentry, which grows with every Coin spent, and adds Spudchant, which refreshes the Shop for free (helps find the Magus). Simulator score: 52 (general strength; Inflation is the wiki's reading).

communityLast week, Reclaim: Princeling for profit and Violet Magus to hit (47K on stream). NoControlTower, 355% account, 5 cards named. Made 41K on the video and 47K on stream. A Minion that stars up on its own costs 3 and returns 5, 2 Coins of profit per round: Princeling does that. Completed by the wiki: Lady Tulip, Sunny Banker, Sunkeeper and Gourmand Baker, the Sun cards he uses on this week's Golden Beetle.

communityHow the wiki would play it: Violet Magus on wave 1 is the piece: without it, restart the match (NoControlTower's tip). Spudchant refreshes the Shop for free and helps find it.

Advanced deck

communityInflation: sell before buying, 4 Violet Magus (65K). NoControlTower, 350% account, 65K (49K on the first try). Selling lowers every price, so he sells and buys again for 0 or 1 Coin. Violet Magus on wave 1 is a must: it clears the wave and hits the Boss. He reached four 3โ˜… Magus. Uvartender borrowed, outside the 9. Coco Coinhog as Commander gives extra Coins. Simulator score: 48 (general strength; Inflation is not simulated).

communityHow the wiki would play it: The creator reached four 3โ˜… Violet Magus by selling and rebuying for 0 or 1 Coin. He says Seed Peon, which lowers the purchase price by 2, would be great here; he did not have it.

Bosses of the week (Nov 3 to 10): Confluence, Star Shower and Inflation

Since Oct 27, the old Boss Challenge became the Club Points Race: 3 Bosses a week (Cap'n Beetlejuice, Queen Wasp and Golden Beetle), each with a modifier that changes every week. The official notice of Oct 29 already listed the modifiers for Nov 3 to 10. There are no videos of these stages yet; here is what the official text says and how I would play them.

The full guide, with the decks creators used and the wave 9 trick, is in the Weekly guide: Club Points Race.

CONFLUENCE (CAP'N BEETLEJUICE)

What the notice says: any Minion merges with any other and, when promoted, turns into a random Minion from your deck. Every Ready, if there are identical copies on the field, they all lose 75% ATK (Temp.).

  • Merge anything duplicated as soon as you can. Since any Minion merges with any other, you don't need to wait for the right copy.
  • Promotion turns into a random card from the deck, so all 9 cards need to hold up on their own. A combo deck that depends on one piece suffers here.
  • My analysis: identical summoned Temp. Minions count as copies. A Cabby Trainer Sprout deck with a full board can lose 75% ATK at once.

STAR SHOWER (QUEEN WASP)

What the notice says: every Ready, she removes your highest-ATK Minion and gives 15% of its ATK to all the others.

  • It's the same rule as the Oct 12 Boss: your strongest Minion disappears. That week's answer still works: make a Temp. clone the highest-ATK Minion, with Orange Bros and Archmandrake.
  • My math: a removed 400 ATK Minion gives 60 ATK to each of the others. Don't stack everything on one card.

  • Seedling, which lowers the buy price, and Spudchant, which refreshes the Shop for free, are the economy cards that pay off most here.

FOR ALL THREE

  • Always break the Boss's Shield, or you take its damage.
  • Losing HP lowers the end multiplier; healing turns into points.
