What is Plants on Fire?

You buy and merge plant Minions, set up your board and protect your Captain in PvP matches of about 3 minutes.
How many cards are in a deck?
confirmed9 cards: 3 of cost 3, 3 of cost 5 and 3 of cost 8. A base card and its Variants can't be in the same deck.
How does merging work?
officialTwo copies of the same Minion at the same ★ merge into one at the next ★, up to 3★ (4★ only in Rumble Chess).

ATK adds up and the ability's green numbers rise. You lose a Minion on the board, though, so it doesn't always pay off.
How many Suncoins do I get per round?
confirmed10 on rounds 1 and 2, 10 on round 3 and 12 from round 4 on. Whatever you don't spend carries over. Refreshing the Shop costs 1.
How do card Variants work?
officialEach base card can have Variants (I, II, III).

A Variant replaces the base card in your deck, inherits its level and usually has a stronger or different ability. You can't run the base card and its Variant together.
What does 'Ready', 'Deploy' or 'Temp' mean on a card?
officialThey are ability keywords. Ready triggers when both players are ready, Deploy triggers when you buy and place the Minion, Temp means the effect lasts one round.

When do cost 8 cards show up in the Shop?
officialNever on round 1. From round 2 on they can appear, but rarely: at 200+ trophies each Shop card has a 1% chance to be cost 8 on R2 and 8% from R9 on (the game's CardRefreshDistribution table, version 2.0.1021.0).
Which rounds have a Boss?
officialRounds 3, 6, 9, 12 and so on, every 3 rounds. Rounds 4, 7, 10 bring the Fated Gift (pick 1 of 3).
What does the Boss do with my Rush Squad?
officialWhen the Boss is summoned it absorbs the Rush Squad units to gain HP.

On R3 it absorbs 50% of their HP; on R9 it reaches 100% at 1,600+ trophies. The more Minions on board, the stronger the Boss gets.
How much damage does the Rush Squad deal to the Captain?
officialEach Rush Squad unit that gets through deals 5 damage to the Captain, and Boss damage rises in the late rounds.

What is Rumble Chess?
confirmedIt's the mode where you face 7 other players in random matchups.

Anyone who hits 0 HP is eliminated, and rankings follow elimination order. It's the only mode where you can merge up to 4★.
How do I redeem a gift code?
officialIn the game, open Settings, tap Gift Code, paste the code and confirm. The reward goes to your Mailbox. Active codes and their check dates are on the codes page.
Where do I use an invite code?
officialIn the game's invite field, which says "Enter an invitation code to claim rewards". Whoever uses it gets an invite gift. This wiki author's code is HYRQCGBY.
