Pop Gunner
Pop Gunner is a cost 3 card in Plants on Fire. Rarity: Rare.
- Fires a volley of 4/5/6/10 bullets at the enemy, each dealing 40% damage.
In practice
Pop Gunner fires a volley of 4/5/6 projectiles (10 at 4★) at the enemy with the most HP, each for 40% damage. Because it lands several hits, it breaks Swift Snail's Shield, which makes it a Boss answer as well as early defense. ATK 3, 3 s interval. Each copy gives the full effect, and the community puts it in tier S. It is available from the start.

How star fusion works
2 copies at the same ★ merge into 1 copy at the next ★. 4★ only exists in Rumble Chess. In regular Co-op, your partner's Minions get a blue star and don't merge with yours. How it works
- Attack target: the enemy with the most HP (not the closest one).
- Triggers: when the fight starts.
- Who it affects: the enemy with the most HP.

- It is in tier S for PvP, according to the community tier list.

Rounds: when you can get it
Worked out from the official shop and Sun rules, for players in the 1000–1599 trophy range. It assumes you spend all your Sun on this card, which almost never happens in a real match.

- You can afford 2 copy(ies) (2★) by R1.
- You can afford 4 copy(ies) (3★) by R2.

Works well with
Pairs the community and I find good together. The notes come from my own research and player guides (written in English).
Berrinetta's slow keeps Swift Slug on the field longer, giving Pop Gunner (multi-hit) more time to pop its Shields before it reaches the Commander.
Same logic, Cheerbloom's aura also boosts Pop Gunner when placed in the slot right below it.
Both deal damage in several separate hits instead of one big hit, which pops Swift Slug's Shield stacks faster (each stack absorbs damage only once).
Same recommendation, Gourmand Baker buffing Pop Gunner.
Same list of "carries" to freeze with Azure Astrologer, naming Pop Gunner.
Same recommendation, Leeky Beats buffing Pop Gunner.
Wiki deduction from the official text: Tree of Light gains Mana on every attack by other Minions, and this card makes the team attack more often.
What the community says
SBroken: carries the match
S with the slow Variant. Without it (A), its burst still breaks the snail Boss's shields and wins games on that Boss.

Variants
A base card and its Variants (I, II, III) can't be in the same deck. Variants inherit the base card's level. Get them in the Variant Recruit with Sprout Coins.

Builds using this card
Beginner (Roonby / tutorial)
The tutorial's recommended lineup (Roonby): cheap and safe, good from about 300 to 400 Trophies while you learn.
Control and Stall
Drags the match out to win on the clock. Rosen Death and Leafy Trap buy time while your HP holds.
Anti-Boss (Adventure)
For Adventure Mode. Breaks Shields and piles bonus damage on Bosses.
Orange Bros and Guaca Sage
4-card core from a community PvP guide; the deck builder filled the other 5 slots around Orange Bros' clones. Builder score: 97 (Carry style).
Azure Astrologer and Lady Tulip (700+ Trophies)
4-card core that a community PvP guide recommends from 700 Trophies; the deck builder filled the other 5 slots. Builder score: 96 (Carry style).
Community deck: Tomato Twister with Variants
A player's Discord deck built for early pressure, with Variants on most cards and the Candlemancer Badge: two Guaca Sage I at about 20 ATK each on turn 1, while Pop Gunner and Apple Sheriff clear the wave.
Tomato Twister Carry
Get Tomato Twister early and stack buffs on it. Carrot Broker digs the Shop for 8-Cost Minions so you find it sooner.
Dr. Kraut Starter
A deck for newer accounts without a strong 5- or 8-Cost carry yet: pile promotion buffs onto Dr. Kraut until you get something like Pomblaster or Tomato Twister.
Frozen Guaca Sage + Tomato Twister (JitteryKennon)
A slower deck. Azure Astrologer buffs a frozen Guaca Sage in the Shop every round, and Tomato Twister deals the damage with Berrinetta's help.
Pomblaster + Berrinetta (JitteryKennon)
Simple plan: Pomblaster and Berrinetta handle the front line, and Peanut Page keeps Pomblaster growing.
Violet Magus + Mangotello, Adventure 2-5 (JitteryKennon)
For Adventure stage 2-5 Hard (Eggydjinn vs Coco Coinhog). Violet Magus and Mangotello deal the damage and help Tomato Twister grow fast.
Tomato Twister + Pomblaster + Shroomurai (JitteryKennon)
Pomblaster and Shroomurai clear the front line, and every kill gives Tomato Twister ATK. Once both are 3★, Math Melon gets bought, deployed and sold over and over.
Pine Gangster II + Judge Chilius (RoyalRabbit5502)
All the damage sits on the Cost-3 Minions, which scale fast with Judge Chilius. The rest of the deck is support.
Boss deck (Oct 12): Orange Bros clones with Archmandrake
The 9 cards to copy for the Oct 12 Boss, which removes the Minion with the highest ATK at the end of each round. Orange Bros makes temporary clones and Archmandrake makes the clone stronger than the original, so the clone is the one that goes.
Boss Challenge: Pop Gunner and Muscle Melon
For the Boss Challenge event, where one Giant Boss stays for 9 rounds. Single-target damage breaks its Shield Bar each round, with buffs around your main hitters.
Club Race 1/3: Conqueror's Temple (no duplicates)
Deck 1 of a set of 3 for the Club Race. Each phase needs its own deck with no Minion repeated between them, and these three share none. This one is for the Conqueror's Temple and is built around Shamaness.
