About the Plants on Fire Wiki

Who this site is for

I built this site to plan a Plants on Fire match before playing it. It has a page for every card with its ability at each level, a deck builder that tests your deck, a tier list with the reason behind every grade, the gift codes that still work, and guides on the shop, merging, positioning and Bosses. It's for people who just installed the game and don't know what to buy, and for people already climbing trophies in PvP who want to know if swapping one card makes a difference. It's a fan site made by one player (Khaan), with no ties to the developers. It's free, works well on phones and comes in 15 languages.

How I check the data

I check each card's ATK, HP, cost and ability in the game, with screenshots. Every card page has a badge that says how far you can trust it: official, checked in game, community, needs verification or outdated. When the text doesn't explain how two cards interact, I work it out and say it's a deduction. Cards and events that haven't shipped in the game stay out. I review the site after every patch and event, and the codes every day.

Where to start

Deck Builder

Pick 9 cards or a playstyle. The deck builder plays the whole match with that deck, gives it a score and tells you what to buy each round, when to merge and which board to aim for. Start here if you have the cards but don't know how to build the deck.

Meta

Every card from S to D for PvP, each with the reason for its grade and the Variants that change its spot. It helps you decide which card is worth investing in before you spend resources.

Codes

The active gift codes, with the reward and the date they were last checked. Event codes usually last only a few days, so it's worth checking the page every week.

Guides

One topic per guide: how the shop rolls cards, when merging pays off, where to put each Minion, how to get through Boss rounds. If you're new, read the beginner deck built only from the 14 free cards first.

Simulator

Shows one match of your deck round by round against an opponent you pick. Use it to see when the deck loses and what it's missing.

Questions players ask

What's the best deck right now?

It depends on which cards you have and their levels.

The best PvP decks guide ranks them all from S to C by deck builder score, each with the buying order round by round. If you're missing a card, open the deck in the deck builder and swap in one you own: the new score shows right away how much the deck loses.

Can I climb without spending money?

Yes. The game gives you 14 free cards, and the beginner deck guide builds the best deck possible from them alone.

After that, the F2P guide shows the strongest no-spend deck, what to level up first and where to spend your resources. Inside a match, what matters most is the buying order and when you merge, and that costs nothing.

How do I know if my deck is good?

Put the 9 cards in the deck builder. It plays the deck against a set of strong decks and gives back the win rate.

For comparison, a random deck wins about 33%, a strong player's typical deck sits at 43% and only the top 10% go past 57%. To see which round it loses in, open the same deck in the simulator.

Where do I get a card I don't have yet?

The where-to-get-every-card guide sorts them all by source, from the free ones to the random draws, and says how many trophies unlock each one.

Each card's page shows its ability per level and its Variants, so you know if it's worth chasing.

Should I merge every time I can?

Not always. Merging adds up the ATK of both copies and improves the ability, but leaves you one Minion short on the board.

In some decks, several unmerged Minions beat one stronger one. The merging guide splits cards into 4 kinds and shows when holding copies pays off more, and the other guide works out the odds of having the copies for 2★ and 3★ each round.

Do the codes on the list still work?

The ones marked active were tested in the game, and the date of the last check is shown on the page.

Event codes expire fast: if one fails, it has probably ended. Let us know with the feedback button and the list gets fixed.

Is there an official tier list?

No. The tier list here is wiki analysis, with the reason for each grade, and it changes when a patch or a new Variant comes out.

Many A and B cards are there because of one deck, so it's worth opening that deck in the deck builder to see its score. The guide comparing public tier lists shows where the lists agree.

I found a wrong number. What should I do?

Send a screenshot through the Contact page or the feedback button.

The fix is checked in the game before it goes on the site. The About page says who makes the site and how I check each piece of data.

Rules questions (how many cards a deck has, which rounds bring the Boss, how merging works, shop odds) are in the full FAQ, with a source for each answer. FAQ
