Positioning: where to put each Minion

A Minion's tile decides when it triggers, and some cards only work on the right tile.

Tile order

official3x3 grid: abilities trigger from tile 1 to 9 (left to right, top to bottom). Summoned units follow the same order.

wikiCards that read other Minions' ATK change value with their tile:

• Cashew Sage: copies part of the strongest Minion's ATK when Ready. On a high tile, after your Ready buffs, it copies the raised ATK.
• Valkyris: gains ATK from the gap between the enemy's total ATK and yours. On a low tile it triggers before your buffs, while the gap is bigger.

Cards that want a specific tile

• Cheerbloom: its Aura gives ATK to the Minion right above. Put it under your main attacker.
• Leeky Beats: its Aura gives ATK to neighbors in the same row and column. In the center (tile 5) it touches 4 Minions; in a corner, only 2.
• Prof. Nutter: spreads its Research as ATK down its column. Put it in your attackers' column.

Empty tiles play too

• Hogsteen, Cabby Trainer, Orange Bros and Sunny Banker: summons and clones need an empty tile. Full board = lost summon.
• Chuckleberry: the exception. On a full board, each clone that doesn't fit becomes ATK on another of your Minions (100% of its ATK from level 9). Fill the board and save 1 tile for it.
• Chomper: needs at least 1 empty tile to act (official Summon guide). It devours Temp Minions and frees space for the next summons.
• Gourmand Baker: its bread spawns on an empty tile.

Who each one hits

officialMost Minions attack the front line. The exceptions:

• Pop Gunner, Greenkeeper and Muscle Melon: target the enemy with the most HP. Good against the Boss and big enemies.
• Hogsteen and Orange Bros: random target.

officialOfficial tip: put ATK bonuses on the Minions with the highest ATK SPD, since each ATK point hits more often.
