In practice
Headless Jack gains +5/10/20 ATK (60 at 4★) for every 10% of HP your Commander is missing, and the aura holds for the round. The less health you have, the stronger it gets, so it fits cards that spend Commander HP. ATK 10, 2 s interval. The builder reads it as carry and payoff. Tier A in PvP. It unlocks at 2400 trophies.

How star fusion works
2 copies at the same ★ merge into 1 copy at the next ★. 4★ only exists in Rumble Chess. In regular Co-op, your partner's Minions get a blue star and don't merge with yours. How it works
- ATK (aura): +5/10/20 (1★/2★/3★), this round only.

Works well with
Pairs the community and I find good together. The notes come from my own research and player guides (written in English).
Boom Shroom costs your own Commander HP on every attack, which increases Headless Jack's ATK bonus (which scales with missing HP).
Jack-o'-Licks costs the Commander's max HP on deploy, and it's exactly that missing HP that increases Headless Jack's ATK.
Headless Jack's own note names "possibly Greenkeeper for survival", the guide's own hedge, not a certainty.
Even at low stars, Headless Jack makes up for the HP lost early and covers the front line Violet Magus misses.
Named by the site owner and checked against the official text: one card makes your Commander lose HP and the other gets stronger from it (ATK per missing HP, or damage to all enemies when the Commander takes damage).
What the community says
AVery strong
Dropped from S to A after a nerf. Gains ATK as the Commander loses HP and is very hard to counter. Low HP deck with Jack-o'-Licks and Boom Shroom.

Variants
A base card and its Variants (I, II, III) can't be in the same deck. Variants inherit the base card's level. Get them in the Variant Recruit with Sprout Coins.
Builds using this card
Captain HP (Lua)
The strongest free-to-play deck according to the community: loses HP on purpose early to power up Headless Jack. No card comes from the paid Battle Pass.
Violet Magus + Headless Jack
Violet Magus deals the damage while Headless Jack turns the HP you lost early into ATK and holds the front line.
