Captain Key, Block Brawl, Clubs and the Synthesis Farm: what's worth your time

Outside matches, the game has several systems that hand out Captains, Badges and Variants. They're easy to lose track of because each one sits in a different corner of the menu. This guide puts the tutorial's rules together with what the wiki pulled from the Badges and builds pages, and marks what each system gives you.

CAPTAIN KEY AND BADGE TOKENS

The Captain Key comes from Block Brawl. With it you open Chests that give Seasonal Captains and Gold Badge Tokens. Saved-up Gold Tokens can also redeem Seasonal Captains. Every new season, Gold Badge Tokens turn into Silver Badge Tokens, which trade for other Captains.

According to the Badges page, Gold Tokens redeem the Candlemancer, Mad King and Pirate Captain Badges (the last one only while it's the Seasonal Captain). Silver Tokens redeem Fortune Cat and Sneakerhead.

The wiki's read: since Gold Tokens become Silver at the turn of the season, if you want Candlemancer you need to redeem it before the season ends. After that, the same token only buys Badges from the Silver list.

BLOCK BRAWL

You earn Regional Points in the same proportion as the trophies you win in Ranked and Rumble Chess, plus Contracts. At the end of the event, your placement by Regional Points decides the prize, which arrives in your Inbox. Since points follow trophies, playing Ranked well is already playing the Brawl.

BOSS MARK

An event that usually opens mid-season. Defeating Bosses in Ranked or Rumble Chess gives Boss Marks, which open the chests on the event page: at least one Silver Chest guaranteed per day, with a chance at a Gold Chest. There's a daily cap on Marks.

The wiki's read: during this event, having an answer for the Boss pays out directly. The Boss rounds guide and the Bosses tab in the deck builder show whether your deck has one.

CLUBS

  • Whoever creates the Club becomes Leader and can appoint Lieutenants. Lieutenants handle applications and Club info, but can't kick anyone or change the motto.
  • If the Leader is inactive for 14 days in a row, the role passes to another member automatically.
  • Leaving or being kicked gives a 3-day wait before joining another Club. The account's first departure has no wait.
  • Points Race gives Club Trophies, which raise the division and unlock stages, decorations and Club Shop items. In the Trick or Bleed season, according to the official notice, a Diamond Division is added.

CLUB POINTS RACE

Since Oct 27, the Club Points Race is what used to be the weekly Boss Battle (official notice, Oct 22). There are 3 Giant Boss stages a week, with no difficulty selection: Cap'n Beetlejuice, Queen Wasp and Golden Beetle. Each Boss comes with a modifier that changes every week. According to NoControlTower, stages unlock as the club wins.

  • Always break the Boss's Shield, or you take its damage.
  • Losing HP lowers the end-of-match points multiplier, so healing turns into points.
  • This week's modifiers, the decks creators used and the wave 9 trick are in the weekly guide: Club Points Race.

The old Race, with a different stage each time and a difficulty choice, became the Extreme Challenge. The decks the wiki built for its stages are still on the builds page, for reference: Stage 1, Conqueror's Temple, Stage 2, Black Market Vault and Stage 3, Promotion.

Members can put Minions in the Shared Pool for others to borrow in Points Races. Lending doesn't take the Minion away from you. Each loan uses the Minion's Vigor, which comes back the next day (or with Diamonds, through Extra Loan). Per the Trick or Bleed notice, you can also import standard decks, copy another player's deck and share yours in chat, and your previous deck is no longer wiped each season.

CLUB SHOP

Points Race is the best way to earn Club Coins. Spending them gives random rewards and Golden Sprout Coins, which trade for exclusive Variants you can't get anywhere else. The tutorial itself recommends saving the coins for those Variants, unless you still need the base Legendaries. Variants are on the Variants page.

SYNTHESIS FARM

Items sprout in the Farm, Minion cards included, bought with Diamonds or Gold. Two matching 1★ items become a 2★, up to 3★, and two different items become a random variant item. Discount Coupons are dragged onto a product, and coupons of the same ★ combined give a bigger discount. Purchases give Farm EXP, which improves what sprouts. The Farm resets every week and anything not bought disappears. Several Legendaries come from it, like Violet Magus and Valkyris.

FRIENDLIES, INBOX AND INVITES

  • Friendly: create a Room and share the Room Code with friends.
  • The Inbox holds 30 messages. Past that, the oldest ones are replaced, starting with those without attachments. Claim rewards as they arrive.
  • Invites: your invite code gives a reward when someone links their account with it before reaching 70 trophies, and only works for accounts created after yours. Active gift codes are on the Codes page.

FAQ

  • How do I get the Captain Key? From Block Brawl, which scores points from Ranked and Rumble Chess trophies and from Contracts.
  • Do Gold Badge Tokens expire? They turn into Silver Tokens next season, and what you can redeem changes.
  • How long is the wait to switch Clubs? 3 days, except for the account's first departure.
  • Until when can a friend use my invite code? Until they reach 70 trophies, and only if their account is newer than yours.
